TEST RESULTS – YEPPPOON & EMU PARK

At Total Health Medical, we manage test results for patients attending GP appointments at our Yeppoon and Emu Park clinics in a safe, confidential, and clinically appropriate manner.

This page explains how test results are communicated, expected timeframes, and when a GP appointment is required.

HOW TEST RESULTS ARE MANAGED

All test results ordered by our GPs are reviewed by a doctor.

Results are communicated based on:

  • Clinical urgency
  • The type of test performed
  • The need for follow-up or discussion

This ensures results are handled safely and appropriately.

RECEIVING YOUR TEST RESULTS

Patients may be contacted regarding test results by:

  • Phone
  • SMS
  • During a booked GP appointment

Not all results require direct contact. Your GP will advise if follow-up is needed.

Please do not assume no news means abnormal results.

WHEN A GP APPOINTMENT IS REQUIRED

A GP appointment is required to discuss:

  • Abnormal or complex test results
  • Results requiring treatment or follow-up
  • Ongoing investigations or monitoring

Booking an appointment ensures your GP has adequate time to explain results and answer questions. Appointments can be booked via our General Practice GP Services page.

TIMEFRAMES FOR TEST RESULTS

Test result timeframes vary depending on the investigation and laboratory processing times.

Please allow sufficient time for results to return and be reviewed by your GP before contacting the clinic. Contacting the clinic before results are reviewed may delay processing.

This test results process applies to patients attending both our Yeppoon and Emu Park clinics.

Our doctors and reception team follow strict privacy and safety guidelines when managing results.

URGENT OR TIME-SENSITIVE RESULTS

If a test result is urgent or requires immediate attention, the clinic will contact you directly.

Please ensure your contact details are up to date with reception. This allows us to contact you promptly if urgent results are identified.

BOOK A GP APPOINTMENT TO DISCUSS RESULTS
