Dr Nigel Catzikiris is a General Practitioner registrar in Yeppoon with a diverse academic and professional background and a strong focus on preventative, active and community-based healthcare.
He completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland and holds multiple additional qualifications, including a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering (Honours) and a Bachelor of Health from the University of Newcastle, a Bachelor of Exercise Science from Griffith University, and a Graduate Diploma of Teaching from Charles Darwin University.
Dr Catzikiris has worked in general practice for the past 1.5 years and joined the team at Total Health Medical in July 2025. Prior to this, he gained valuable clinical experience across hospital and primary care settings, including Rockhampton Hospital, Gladstone Hospital and Capricorn Coast Hospital.
He has special interests in sports medicine, occupational medicine, men’s health, and preventative medicine, with a strong appreciation for public health and long-term wellbeing. His multidisciplinary training allows him to take a holistic and practical approach to patient care, supporting patients to stay active, healthy, and engaged in their own health journeys.
Outside of medicine, Dr Catzikiris enjoys family life, including being active and spending time outdoors when time permits. He speaks basic Norwegian, a legacy of past Nordic adventures.
