Dr Nigel Catzikiris first came to Total Health as a medical student in 2020 and we welcome his return as a GP registrar mid 2025. With a background in engineering, education and environmental systems outside of medicine, he cherishes time with his young family and outdoor adventures. Dr Catzikiris fosters lasting patient relationships whilst guiding them towards their health objectives with care and compassion.

Pete was born, raised and trained in the UK. He now calls Yeppoon home having moved here in 2003.
Pete’s interests are skin cancer and minor surgery, chronic disease management and the education of medical students and GP trainees.

Cornelia graduated in 1986 in Berlin, Germany and qualified as a General Practitioner in 1991.
After 8 years working in South Africa and England, Cornelia moved to Central Queensland in 2002. She became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2005 and joined Total Health Medical Centre in 2011.
Cornelia enjoys being a family Doctor and looking after 4 generations of some families. Her special interests include, integrative, nutritional and environmental medicine.

Dr Sarah Smith originally hails from the Bahamas. She has lived in Queensland for the past 15 years. Dr Sarah joined the Total Health Medical team in 2016 and enjoys all aspects of general practice. She has a Bachelor of Biomedical Science and a medical degree from the University of Queensland and holds a Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Ela Azimi is a highly skilled General Practitioner with extensive experience across a broad range of clinical areas. She is completing her Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and is recognised for her thorough, evidence-based approach and her commitment to providing the highest standard of care.
Ela’s areas of expertise include women’s health, complex chronic disease management, preventative medicine, and family care across all ages. Patients value her for her strong diagnostic skills, clear communication, and ability to manage both simple and complex conditions with confidence.

Hanieh graduated from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in 2020. Originally from Iran, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a strong commitment to patient care. She is interested in all areas of general practice, including paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, and chronic disease management. Hanieh provides a patient focused approach to general medicine.

Dr. Aygin completed her medical training in Iran and is currently completing her Fellowship
with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). She has been
practising in general practice since 2021 and joined Total Health Medical in Yeppoon,
Queensland in 2024.
Before relocating to Australia, Dr. Aygin gained extensive clinical experience working in both
general practice and hospital emergency departments, managing a wide range of medical
conditions and patient presentations. She is passionate about supporting patients through all
stages of life and values building long-term, trusting relationships with individuals and
families in the Yeppoon community.
Dr. Aygin’s areas of interest include skin checks and minor skin procedures, women’s health
(including contraception, Implanon insertion, pregnancy care, and menopause
management), chronic disease management, preventative health care, childhood
immunisation, travel vaccinations—including yellow fever vaccination—iron infusions, and
venesections. Her patient-focused approach ensures comprehensive care tailored to each
patient’s needs.
Fluent in English and Farsi, Dr. Aygin enjoys connecting with a diverse range of patients.
Outside of work, she loves spending time with family and friends and maintaining a healthy

Emma graduated from the university of Melbourne medical school in 2019. She has spent 5 years working in intensive care and Emergency in Brisbane and rural NSW before moving to Yeppoon in 2025 to complete her GP training.

Born and raised in Rockhampton, Dr Anna Vanderstaay (she/her) graduated with honours from The University of Queensland and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She first joined Total Health Medical Centre in 2015 and has recently relocated with her family back to Yeppoon after working in the Torres Strait and with the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Western Queensland. Her special interests include women and children’s medicine, management of chronic disease and First Nations health.
